Job Description
The Hanlon Financial Systems Lab is currently looking for three students to continue developing the Stevens High Frequency Trading System (SHiFT). The number of hours employed is 20 hours per week and remuneration depends on qualifications and needs.
The project attempts to create a system where various HFT strategies may be used in a controlled environment. This is a very novel take on an agent-based simulator, in which agents are programs on the network (instead of running on the same computer) and are endowed with all the characteristics of a HF trader (PnL, Risk Management engine etc.). The trading data is processed by a centralized server (exchange) which broadcasts the trading information on the network. The exchange server uses both real and simulated data to be able to create stress scenarios and test the financial system thus created. Upon completion, the system will double as a test bed for testing HFT strategies as well as a learning system for students in a controlled environment.
