Position Summary

The Office of Study Abroad Programs at the University at Buffalo is seeking a self-motivated individual who enjoys a fast-paced, student-centered environment.

As Study Abroad Coordinator you will:
    • Serve as a specialist in an assigned portfolio of study abroad programs, and help recruit, enroll, and advise prospective and current study abroad participants.
    • Assist with the administration of various study abroad, exchange, and experiential learning programs.
    • Coordinate outreach programming for the office and represent the office at various promotional and outreach events.

 


Your other responsibilities will include, among others:
  • Helping to coordinate student and course registration and assist with program and student billing processes.
  • Coordinating social media efforts for the office.
  • Coordinating a student ambassador program.

This position involves occasional evening and weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with one year of directly related work experience. Experience should include student programming and/or student advising responsibilities.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the field of Education Abroad (or International Education) and demonstrated intercultural sensitivity.
  • An ability to effectively communicate enthusiasm for the programs and activities being presented along with a heightened focus on attention to detail to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, database management, and the ability to use social media and other means of electronic communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous study abroad participation.
  • Experience with program development and event planning.
  • Prior experience with Terra Dotta Software or other on-line application management software packages.
