JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Dr. Heffernan was just awarded an 8M, and other NSF grants and as a result seeks a project
assistant to coordinate and provide support for Dr. Heffernan and the various faculty and staff
involved in his grant.
Job Description :
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in managing various administrative tasks associated with the grants.
Handle routine correspondence for faculty from funders.
Assist in the preparation of annual reports.
Review correspondence to ensure timely response.
Review and collect backup documents for p-card transactions on the research award.
Prepare and maintain expense reports and p-card charges for grant personnel.
Assist with the follow-up of IRB submission.
Review and process travel receipts.
Coordinate meetings between various project staff as related to the grants.
Perform other related job duties as assigned.
Work with the sub awardees (partners of WPI that are funded on these grants) to ensure
they do their scope of work.
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Highly organized, have effective time-management and organizational skills, ability to
deal with multiple tasks, prioritize and follow-through.
Ability to think critically, flexibly and analytically. Ability to work independently and as a
member of a team.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Ability to communicate effectively using tact and discretion.
Ability to build and promote a safe and collegial working environment and be committed
to building and fostering collaboration with school districts and partners.
Excellent Microsoft Office, Google Documents and computer skills required.
