Overview
The Marketing and Communications Team, within the Office of the Vice Provost, is responsible for creating and implementing the University’s marketing and communications strategies. The team maintains internal and external channels and develops content for use across the university, as well as for use in marketing the school to external audiences
What You'll Do
The Communications Manager develops and recommends a communications strategy that promotes the goals, values and mission of the Tufts University Center for Cellular Agriculture (TUCCA). S/he develops and oversees high-quality, effective materials and messaging including researching and writing effective
communications pieces. S/he creates design and layout of publications; develops and implements
communications and marketing plans and projects; develops and oversees the design and content for website and social media communications. S/he identifies and implements opportunities in training and workforce development communication efforts, materials and programs, at local and remote levels, including on site and off site (e.g., road shows). S/he identifies creative and artistic new ways to communicate cellular agriculture and alternative proteins to stakeholders, the general public and others in an effective and helpful way. S/he evaluates and reports on effectiveness of communications strategies and makes decisions on changes or improvements. This individual manages communications budget, hires and trains communications staff including consultants and vendors. S/he works with university-wide committees and work groups and provides public relations support and planning for school/division.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in related area of study and 5-7 years of professional communications experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree and experience in education or non-profit setting preferred.
