Simulation and Technology Manager, UAS Program – (190165)
To supervise and maintain simulation and other technology in support of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems flight program. The manager will instruct students enrolled in UAS flight courses. The manager will provide acquisition, setup, installation, and continued UAS program support for computing technology and networking equipment. The manager will support the UAS simulator hardware, software, and networking. The manager will serve as software and database administrator for UAS mission-critical components. The manager will develop and build scenarios to be used in UAS simulators for flight training laboratories. The manager will ensure the UAS program remains compliant for all US Government export regulations. The manager will serve on the UAS Operational Review Board as part of the UAS flight program.
Provide instruction for Unmanned Aircraft Systems program flight courses
Administer support for computing technology and networking equipment utilized by the UAS flight program
Maintain the UAS flight simulator hardware, software, and network, keeping a record and coordinating with simulation vendors
Manage UAS program mission-critical software and associated databases, keeping a record and coordinating with software vendors
Building Scenarios for various simulation courses taught in the UAS Training Laboratory
Operate and maintain the US Government mandated International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR) program for the UAS program.
Maintain membership in UAS Operational Review Board
Supervises student laboratory assistants.
FAA Certified Remote Pilot, maintain currency in department unmanned aircraft and simulation software.
Other duties as assigned.
Remote Pilot Certificate per 14CFR Part 107.
Analytical skills with an in depth knowledge of information systems and technical expertise with Microsoft operating systems, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end-user applications. Experience with Piccolo Command Center UAS systems, SenseFly UAS systems, DJI UAS systems, computer networking, software development, and configuring and integrating computer hardware necessary to UAS simulations is highly preferred.
