The Assistant Softball Coach assists the Head Softball Coach in all phases of a successful Division I Intercollegiate program.
Key accountability and responsibilities:
Teach skills related to the Softball Sport Program. Develop and implement thorough, sound and safe teaching plans for defense and hitting.
Recruit student-athletes that can contribute athletically to the program and also reflect the academic standards of UB. Recruit approved student-athletes within assigned area to include planning implementing, and on-the-road recruiting.
Maintain accurate recruiting lists and have thorough knowledge of all NCAA and University rules and regulations.
Make maximum use of all technologies to develop the student-athlete to fullest potential.
Responsible for compliance with the policies and rules of the University, the NCAA and the Mid-American Conference.
Responsible for procurement, purchasing, facilities management, and fundraising for the sport program.

Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience.
Knowledge of, or basic understanding of coaching at the collegiate level required, preferably Division I-A.
Must be proficient with computers, have strong communication skills and excellent teaching and coaching skills.
