Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a Space Planner for the Department of Campus Operations. The primary function of the Campus Space Planner is to provide ongoing support to the reallocation of campus office space and other facilities in order to gain maximum space efficiency and to obtain, organize and manage statistical data for future master planning. The position will be visible within the entire University and will support all campuses as well as world-wide locations. As part of the Campus Operations team, this position requires experience in analyzing space data and working within the university policy framework to provide efficient and cost effective space allocation solutions and reporting real time data analysis to management as needed.

Job functions and duties include but are not limited to:
Coordinate and communicate with University Management and the campus community to redefine space allocation in existing buildings.
Produce as built campus building plans, maps, and Infrastructure graphics and provide to the campus community as requested.
Design and provide interior and exterior signage and graphics for all campus buildings. Provide drawings as needed to signage manufacturer for fabrication and installation utilizing internal and external manufacturing sources.
Participate with department staff & contracted architectural design teams in development & review of documents in planning for emerging capital projects.
Gather and analyze statistical data in regard to utilization of existing campus facilities and resources.
Produce Illustrations and Graphics to be used in departmental & management presentations.
Maintain as-built AutoCAD architectural drawing library for all buildings on all University Campuses.
Maintain space allocation database utilizing AssetWorks CAFM program (AimCAD). Design and produce space allocation reports using CAFM database as requested by Interior design manager and others.
Maintain database of all current project construction documents in electronic format and provide copies to inside and outside trades per approved requests. Download and file new electronic files for new buildings, produce plotted plans for various in house trades as requested.
Provide Computer Aided Drafting and design support as needed to Interior Design and Planning Manager. Provide design development and construction documents for the in house trades to work from for internal projects (typical plan set to include: demolition, partition, interior building finishes, electrical & telecommunications placement).
Develop and implement minimum Floor Covering Standards for campus buildings to insure best return on approximate $36 million investment. Manage acquisition and installation on all replacement projects.
Provide pre bid space exhibits with carpet specifications as well as installation plans to contractors upon bid award.
Manage the Campus Facilities Specifications and Operation & Maintenance Manuals Library for all existing buildings in digital format.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Interior Design.
Minimum of 1-3 years work related experience. College internship hours will be considered toward minimum number of years work related experience.
Advanced AutoCAD skills are required.

Preferred qualifications:
Knowledge of Revit, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and MS Office Suite are recommended.
