Job Summary
This position reports to the department chair and is responsible for managing and directing the overall direction of all academic programs and student support services for the CSSE department. This person will lead all advising and other student support activities, develop new initiatives as needs change, and train and supervise staff as needed.

Essential Functions
Develops goals, objectives, and strategies for recruiting, admitting, advising, and providing student services in coordination with department administration. Develops academic coaching and student programming activities.
Plans, directs, executes, and manages events, processes and activities for recruiting and advising, and providing services to students at all levels, from pre-college to graduate and from matriculation through graduation, to ensure that the developed goals are met.
Provides the essential day-to-day management to ensure that objectives are met and programs are implemented. Responsible for creating the department’s course portfolio each term in coordination with the department administration. Initiates, organizes, implements, and supervises schedule building and registration processes for the department. Serves on committees as needed.
Manages tracking, collection, organization, and analyses of programmatic data. Manages and coordinates the preparation and submission of reports. Assists in the design and implementation of assessment strategies and instruments.
Reviews and evaluates programs to provide recommendations to department administration, and plans and implements needed changes.
Supervises other employees, including training, evaluating, assigning duties, and making or recommending pay, promotion or other employment decisions. Develops and implements operational guidelines and policies for the department’s advisory staff.
Oversees and monitors academic program related budgets to ensure expenditures are within specifications and are in line with projections and in compliance with both federal and Auburn University policies and procedures. Directs resolution efforts and coordinates solutions when budget or accounting issues arise.
Acts in conjunction with department administration as a liaison with the college, university, and external stakeholders. Acts as an interface between department’s students and faculty regarding academic matters, with the goal of increasing the quality of student experience.
Determines public awareness/marketing needs of academic programs and helps manage, coordinate, prepare, review, edit, and disseminate communications through college and university offices of communications and marketing.
Engages in professional development for continuous improvement.
