Position Summary    
The Undergraduate Program & Services Office at the University at Buffalo School of Management is seeking an Academic Advising Assistant who will support the undergraduate academic advising team and center. The Academic Advising Assistant will provide support to the students and the team and assist with other administrative duties. This role will report to Director of Undergraduate Programs & Services and work collaboratively with other staff and faculty in both the Undergraduate Programs Office, Dean’s Office and SOM’s internal offices and centers. Strong customer focus, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential to the success of this position.

Key Responsibilities will include:
Responds to general inquiries from prospective and current undergraduates in compliance with office and FERPA policies.
Designs, implements, and manages communication for advising teams using EAB (student success portal – Navigate)
Assists with new file set-up, data collection, academic review, probation tasks including filing student emails, outreach to students, gathering and tracking statistics, and other duties as assigned.
Coordinates the planning, execution, and evaluation of events.
Assists with front office duties and holds walk in hours for students.
Manages degree conferral reporting and outreach
Responsible for all aspects of our two minor programs
Interact regularly and diplomatically campus-wide with a diverse group of internal and external constituents.

Minimum Qualifications    
Bachelor’s degree and some relevant experience in academic advising/higher education/student services
Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team.
Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions
Exceptional customer service skills including strong writing, analytical and problem‐solving skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access


Preferred Qualifications    
2 years of relevant experience in academic advising/higher education/student services.
Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills
Strong team and effective interpersonal skills.
Solid analytical and problem solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience in a fast-paced environment
