The Office of Public Health and Professional Degree Programs (PHPD) oversees administrative services related to supporting students in the graduate degree programs offered by Tufts University School of Medicine (excluding the MD program). PHPD responsibilities include admissions, registration, career services, and other student services functions. Programs supported by PHPD include the MPH and related dual degrees, the MS in Health Informatics and Analytics (HIA), the MS in Biomedical Sciences (MBS), the Physician Assistant (PA) program, and the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program(s).
The Communications Specialist executes communications strategies that promote the recruitment and enrollment of students in all PHPD programs. They research, recommend, and implement communications and marketing projects and strategies to support the enrollment goals of all PHPD programs at the direction of the Director of Enrollment Systems and Marketing. This individual develops a deep knowledge of PHPD programs and prospective student concerns/behaviors in order to develop high-quality, effective messaging and content for print, email, website, and social media channels. They evaluate and report on effectiveness of communications strategies and recommends changes or improvements. This individual may monitor budgets; provide guidance to support staff, students, and temporary workers; and coordinate work with outside vendors and consultants on projects as needed.
