The Support Services organization at Tufts University delivers administrative services to schools and central units across the university’s three campuses. Administrative activities that are common across the many central divisions and schools have been consolidated, allowing highly qualified teams to provide exemplary administrative support to faculty and staff. Comprising administrative support for transactional tasks in human resources and finance, support services operates under a governance model that includes service level agreements. Tufts Support Services (TSS) is customer-focused and strives for continuous improvement and high customer satisfaction.

Job Summary:

Under limited supervision, performs complex and varied administrative duties for a large department. Responsible for the ongoing management and support of the front office including the purchase and maintenance of supplies and services, organizing meetings and events, addressing IT and facility needs, equipment maintenance and replacement and mail distribution. Position plays an integral role entering and maintaining time and attendance activity for Support Services, leave of absence and workers compensation cases. May also coordinate department projects or programs, which may entail assisting with development of materials and brochures, updating web information and assisting with content and design.


Basic Requirement:

High School diploma/GED and 2-4 years of administrative experience or a college degree with 1-3 years’ experience.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including word processing, editing, graphics, spreadsheet and database knowledge.

Knowledge in Adobe/Kofax Power PDF to edit or create new documents.

Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates degree preferred

Experience with time and attendance, leave policy, workers compensation policy and respective data entry.
