The UBMD Internal Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is seeking applicants for a part-time Respiratory Therapist.
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for evaluating, recommending, educating and administering selected Respiratory Care to Adult Pulmonary patients in UBMD outpatient clinics.
Requirements/ Job Duties:
- Performs pulmonary function testing, spirometry, six-minute walk tests, ambulatory oximetry, FeNO measurement, inhaler training, smoking cessation counseling with clinic patients
- Provides education to patients and family members on all types of chest physical therapy and ongoing care patients requiring mechanical ventilation and noninvasive positive pressure ventilation in the home setting.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergencies.
Cystic Fibrosis Specific (CF) Requirements:
- Work with patients to ensure adequate patient centered CF specific airway clearance to maintain lung function.
- Develop relationships and complete annual assessment on all patients with CF. Complete periodic assessments at each clinic visit (2-4 times per year).
- Work with Adult CF Care team to assist in providing appropriate respiratory care equipment
