DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:
The work involves para-professional duties in various college administrative functions. The incumbent may have direct contact with the public and assists them on eligibility and other procedural matters. The incumbent also assists college administrators in the performance of administrative and technical work as assigned. The work is performed under the direction of a college administrator or SES. Supervision may be exercised over clerical assistants; does related work as required.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Develops and works with College systems;
- Makes decisions based on pre-established criteria;
- Assists with collection, compilation and dissemination of statistical data;
- Supervise full and part-time supportive clerical employees;
- Assists administrator on projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Candidates must be able to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Good knowledge of administrative practices and procedures in an institution of higher education; ability to assist effectively in the administrative affairs of an institution of higher education; ability to coordinate and relieve college officials of administrative duties. Ability to work well with others; ability to communicate well with others; good computer skills, including use of standard office hardware and software; good judgment; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Completion of sixty (60) semester credit hours of study at a registered or regionally accredited college or university.
