The purpose of this position is to work in conjunction with middle managers, County Operations Team (COT), which is comprised of two Regional Extension Directors (RED) who oversee approximately 70 county-based (CBP) personnel from the campus level across the state of North Carolina. The state is currently divided into two regions: Eastern and Western. This position functions with some independence except where technical, legal, or administrative complexities of the County Operations Unit require direct involvement. Public contact is a major component, both internal and external to the organization. Work requires contact with CBP, county directors, service recipients and the public. This position interacts with individuals in a fast paced environment, sometimes under pressure while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and provide good customer service.

Associated degree, demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Must be able to work with integrity, a high degree of customer service, professionalism, confidentiality and flexibility. Must be able to handle multiple task.
Knowledge and experience with Cooperative Extension. Demonstrated ability and experience working autonomously. Experience developing, managing and monitoring budgets. Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and become highly proficient with computer programs and systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills; effective verbal, written, electronic communication skills, ability and willingness to work effectively with various campus, county and state program units.
