Position Summary

The UB School of Nursing seeks an energetic and highly professional Resource Management Specialist. This position is a member of the Business Services team within the School of Nursing. A successful candidate will exhibit strong organizational and communication skills. The position will report directly to the Unit Business Officer.

Key responsibilities include:
    • Financial management functions including coordination of expenditure processing, account reconciliation, reporting, auditing and implementation of internal controls that ensure compliance with university policies and procedures.
    • Working cooperatively with departments, this position will play a key role in the development and implementation of operating budgets.
    • Serve as resource/liaison for all aspects of business operations including systems implementation, such as the travel and expense reimbursement system, procurement processing, commitment management tool, and financial reporting systems.
    • Manage process to continually monitor, track, and initiate adjustments to course fees.
    • Serve as knowledge base for PI’s to ensure research grants expenditures, including gift cards and independent contractor payments, are processed optimally and in compliance with university spending policies.
    • Support the unit business officer in data analysis, school-wide resource planning and annual budgeting process.
    • Assist with personnel management functions including recruitment, hiring and reappointments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience in the areas of financial management, resource planning and/or budgeting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing, verbal and listening skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills a must for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business or higher education administration.
  • Experience administering research grant expenditures.
  • Professional experience in a college or university setting.
