Gumberg Library at Duquesne University is currently recruiting for two non-tenure track, faculty librarian positions to be a part of the newly created Collections and Metadata Services Department, the Acquisitions Librarian and the Access & Discovery Librarian. These positions will provide exciting opportunities for professional growth, while contributing to and shaping the future direction of this newly formed unit, as well as the library as a whole. ACQUISITIONS FACULTY LIBRARIAN:
If you are a highly motivated, data-oriented and collaborative individual, please consider applying for the Acquisitions Librarian position. Reporting to the Assistant University Librarian for Collections & Metadata Services, the incumbent will lead the acquisition and licensing of information resources in all formats, including print monographs and serials, e-books, e-journals, streaming video, databases and other formats as they evolve. This individual will also oversee ordering, receiving, licensing, payment, and vendor relations. Other duties include serving on appropriate library, university, and external committees and working groups. The successful candidate will be excited to grow into this position, while experimenting with redesigning workflows and proposing innovative approaches for using current systems fully; will be eager to assist in the creation of a work environment that fosters creativity and innovation to support the evolving climate of collection development and acquisitions. ACCESS & DISCOVERY FACULTY LIBRARIAN:
If you are an innovative, technologically savvy, service-oriented person, the Access and Discovery Librarian position is for you. This position will provide leadership and support for optimizing access and discovery of the Libraries’ extensive electronic collections, including but not limited to databases, electronic journals, electronic books, and streaming media via the Library’s discovery system, link resolver, online catalog and website. Reporting to the Assistant University Librarian for Collections & Metadata Services this position will play an integral role in the evolution, development and implementation of new strategies relating to discovery and the user experience.
