Overview
The Department of Neuroscience is a basic science department that focuses on cutting-edge research in the areas of stress, GABAergic inhibition, depression, and epilepsy. Dr. Jamie Maguire is supported by funding from the federal government and industry. The faculty within the department is also extensively involved with the Biomedical Graduate Science Program in Neuroscience as well as teaching within the medical school.
What You'll Do
Under close supervision of the Principal Investigator, the individual will conduct a variety of routine experiments following established procedures and protocols. The primary functions of this position include: 1) Genotyping and managing a mouse colony, 2) Preparation of solutions and reagents, 3) general laboratory management, and 4) assisting with experimental procedures including animal behavior and biochemical techniques.
- Conducting animal behaviors and biochemical experiments, and documenting data under researcher guidance
- Monitors animal colony, genotyping, collecting tissue samples and maintains census records
- General laboratory tasks (making solutions, inventory)
- Assisting lab members with experiments
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in science
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques and procedures
Pay Range
Minimum $19.80, Midpoint $23.55, Maximum $27.30
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
