Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking several temporary Grounds Service Workers to assist during our peak time and perform maintenance and repairs on the landscaped grounds, parking lots, roads, fencing, and drainage systems as assigned by the Foreman or Crew Leader. This is a full time, temporary non-benefited position that could last for up to 6 months and could potentially transition to full time position.
Install new and renovate old landscaping including but not limited to turf, trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds.
Maintain, renovate, and repair all exterior athletic and recreational facilities. Remove all trash on grounds including emptying waste receptacles. Provide emergency response, as appropriate, to exterior hazardous conditions.
Assist in various special events, set-ups, and building service functions as needed.
Maintain, renovate and repair campus grounds including but not limited to: landscaping, fencing, parking lots, roadways, pathways, athletic and recreational facilities. Maintain parking lots and roadways including potholes, curb stops, and cleaning. Operate power equipment using caution to ensure the safety of both life an property. Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is operating properly.
Maintain records of man-hours and materials used, and vehicle log trip tickets. Responsible for keeping all equipment safe from vandalism or theft during working hours. Responsible for requesting equipment and supplies in advance to ensure job completion. Responsible for cleaning all equipment at the end of the work day.
