$10.00 per hour
Tutors will provide academic assistance in the form of tutoring individuals or groups to facilitate student academic success. Most tutors work an average of 2 to 6 hours per week, usually tutoring subjects in their major and/or minor fields. Tutors are assigned to individuals and/or groups as needs arise throughout the semester.
Grade of A or B in the course being tutored for lower and upper division Mathematics and Stat 251 or higher.
Documented equivalent experience to a grade of A or B in the course being tutored
In addition, candidates must possess EACH of the following:
Ability to communicate knowledge of course content in a way that is meaningful to students
Ability to adapt to a variety of students with a wide range of abilities and diverse learning styles
Ability to demonstrate verbal and written command of the English language
Course work in the same subject areas and above the level of courses being tutored
Previous experience tutoring or in related work
Understanding of time constraints and balance of academics and competition student athletes face
. Program knowledge for Stat 251 (Preferred, but not needed)
