Position Summary
The primary responsibility associated with this entry-level laboratory research associate position will be to provide day-to-day support for in vivo and in vitro research utilizing small and large animal models of cardiovascular disease. Secondary responsibilities include assisting and guiding postdoctoral researchers, students or other trainees conducting cardiovascular research in the laboratory. Furthermore, the laboratory research associate will be expected to participate in administrative operations, budgeting, ordering supplies and the preparation and submission of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) protocols.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working as part of a team in an academic research laboratory
  • Desire and ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Willing to work extra hours if needed for animal monitoring or care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Veterinary Science or other health sciences field
