Establish EOPS/CARE vision, mission and goals; represent the EOPS/CARE program on campus to management, other departments, committees, student groups, etc.; provide leadership for EOPS/CARE program development and work directly with the dean, assistant dean, faculty/counselors to plan for program reviews, modifications, and deletions; develop staffing plan to meet short-term and long-term needs and goals, and assist in the development of job descriptions for new positions; develop, administer and monitor the EOPS/CARE programs; submit information in approved state reporting format; prepare and submit the annual EOPS/CARE Project Plan and set operational policies for implementation; prepare, submit, and manage annual EOPS/CARE program budget and required state and institutional fiscal and accounting reports; select, train, supervise, and evaluate personnel including staff work assignments and program activities; oversee day-to-day operations of the EOPS/CARE program and services including qualifications for overall over and above services; determine student program eligibility; establish and execute a comprehensive outreach program focused on the recruitment of historically economically disadvantaged, academically under prepared, and underrepresented populations; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using strong oral and written communication skills; plan, organize work, and meet schedules and deadlines; provide counseling to current and potential EOPS/CARE students when needed; liaison with Financial Assistance Office to provide services to potential and current EOPS/CARE students when needed; oversee EOPS/CARE counseling services; provide counseling to current and potential EOPS/CARE students when needed; assist the Assistant Dean/Dean in managing and monitoring the college’s CalWORKs program; perform other duties as assigned.
