Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Student Employment Office is hiring a 30 hour a week, Student Employment Coordinator to provide administrative support within the department. The Student Employment Coordinator is responsible for assisting students in locating and securing part-time employment. The position works with ERAU students and campus supervisors in helping fill their employment needs. The coordinator is responsible for the disbursement of allocated Federal Work Study (FWS) funds and balancing payroll reports. This position assists with the organization of Student Employment Week and Student Employee of the year events. The coordinator will work with the Director in training students and staff on the JobX database system and provide administrative support to the director by assuming most daily clerical functions.

Responsibilities include the following:

Customer Service
Assist students by identifying their interests, skills and qualifications in order to facilitate their employment needs.
Respond to telephone questions and inquiries from visitors on departmental policies and procedures.
Provide assistance to students and departments with functions of the website.
Recommend and/or conduct appropriate training sessions for student employment supervisors.
Review and approve student employment job descriptions prior to posting on the web site.
Work one on one with new students for job placement.
Manage Front Office
Process hire, verification, and drug testing results and paperwork.
Prepare batch work for imaging purposes – scan and data enter
Maintain accuracy of JobX as it relates to hiring supervisors, budget managers and creating new employers.
Update student employment forms as necessary
Collect and maintain necessary employment documents
Run Awarding reports and update awards prior to payday.
Verifies student eligibility and Federal Work Study (FWS) eligibility to assign appropriate award codes.
Calculate financial need to determine FWS eligibility.
Utilizing Excel Spreadsheets – keep track of FWS expenditures.
Provide training to staff and students regarding the Student Employment JobX interactive database system and Oracle online timesheets.
Event Assistance
Assist the JLD coordinator with part-time job fairs.
Coordinate Student Employment Week and Student Employee of the year events.


Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree
A minimum of three years experience in a customer service office environment, preferrably dealing with diverse people
High degree of professionalism
Excellent interpersonal skills
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
Proficiency with Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint
Highly motivated and able to work independently
Ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiar with colleague and webpage maintenance
Working knowledge of JobX
