The Director of Community Outreach is a masters' level staff position in the Scientific Thinking and Representation (STAR) Laboratory requiring at least 5 years of relevant experience. This lab studies child development, and the primary responsibilities of this position are to communicate the results of the lab's research to community stakeholders (e.g., parents, educators) and to recruit research participants from the local community. A high degree of training and experience is necessary in order to allow this individual to translate the lab's research into terms that non-scientists will understand.
This position is for one-year, grant-funded position with the possibility of renewal dependent on funding. Villanova is a Catholic university sponsored by the Augustinian order. Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Community Outreach will be responsible for initiating and maintaining relationships with a variety of community organizations (e.g., preschools, museums) for the purposes of recruiting potential participants, disseminating results of lab studies, and engaging the broader community in the scientific endeavors of the lab.
Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.
M.A./M.S in an appropriate field.
6+ years of prior relevant experience.
