Under general supervision, to coordinate and participate in the ordering, selling, shipping and receiving of textbooks; to assist students, faculty, staff, and other bookstore customers in locating merchandise; and to perform a variety of other technical tasks relative to bookstore operations.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
a.    Determine quantities of textbooks needed for semester; order and receive textbooks for the bookstore.
b.    Maintain publisher booklists for buy backs and returns; inform faculty of new editions, out of print, and out of stock books; participate in buying back of books.
c.    Input, review and correct textbook data in computer; research textbook titles for correct information; create textbook reports.
d.    Type purchase orders for books; maintain purchase order records; match purchase orders with statements, credits, and invoices from publishers.
e.    Count inventory of textbooks; price textbooks; enter receiving, invoicing, pricing, and inventory information into computer.
f.    Process special orders from staff, faculty, students, and public; notify customers when order is received.
g.    Respond to inquiries and request for information from faculty, staff, students, and vendors; resolve complaints and textbook discrepancies in person, over the telephone, or through correspondence.
h.    Coordinate textbook receiving, storage, pricing, and distribution; ensure adequate textbook inventories; monitor textbook operations.
i.    Assist in paperwork and textbook purchasing for scholarship funded students.
j.    Attend and participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars related to bookstore operations.
k.    May lead or oversee the work of lower level bookstore staff.
l.    Perform other related job duties as assigned.
