The Office of International Admissions at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) invites applications for the position of International Admissions Advisor. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Provost for International Admissions, the International Admissions Advisor supports all stages of the process of admitting and enrolling international students into the University at Buffalo, from the recruitment stage through enrollment.
As International Admissions Advisor, your primary responsibility is to evaluate and make decisions on applications for undergraduate and graduate admission from prospective international students. Duties include reviewing, verifying and evaluating various documents and credentials, creating electronic student records in multiple systems and entering relevant data, and issuing Certificates of Visa Eligibility, among others.
The International Admissions Advisor also supports office communications and yield enhancement programs, and provides admissions-related advising. The International Admissions Advisor is also responsible for serving as the office lead in at least one administrative area, and responsible for working in collaboration with colleagues in support of other administrative areas. Examples of these areas include, among others:
- Developing and issuing data-driven reports
- Troubleshooting systems processing issues
- Training colleagues and/or representatives of other departments in associated policies and procedures
- Supervising student workers.
