Overview

The Finance division is responsible for managing the financial resources of the university. We are  seeking candididates with a startegic mindset, strong analytical skills and a keen eye for etail to fill the role of Director, Financial Planning. 


What You'll Do

The Director, Fianncial Planning manages the university’s strategic financial analyses and other ad hoc analysis.  Responsible for designing and conducting detailed financial, system and cost analysis studies and development of and compliance with university management reporting. 

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Responsible for strategic financial analyses and ad hoc analysis requests, leading analytics and scenario planning for all major university strategic initiatives.
  • Designs and conducts detailed financial, system, and cost analysis studies in accordance with university management reporting.
  • Works closely with the Senior University Budget Director and the Executive Director of Campus Planning, co-managing the university’s long range capital plan and planning model. Plays a leading role in the design and implementation of the long range planning model for executive decision making, collaborating with budget center directors to incorporate information on school and unit budgets, endowment, fundraising and enrollment and financial aid into the long range model and planning scenarios.
  • Leads and provides project management for interdisciplinary and intra-university ad hoc complex strategic plans and business development initiatives, recommending action to senior management.
  • Conducts specialized peer analyses, ratios and other metrics.
  • Leads the analysis and models/recommends scenario options for the university’s debt financing planning.
  • Provides backup support to Senior University Budget Director and Executive Director of Campus Planning.
  • Works closely and maintains positive relationships with the university’s financial advisors, Barclays and JP Morgan, and the Moody’s and S&P rating agencies and the Budget and Planning and Treasury leadership teams.
  • Manages key relationships with Vice Presidents and their leadership teams, Executive Administrative and Associate Deans, Budget Center directors, Operations and Office of the Provost senior staff, and other customers.
  • Provides cross-training/support to senior analysts with work related to analysis and budgeting.


What We're Looking For

Basic Requirements:

  • Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through completion of Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 10 years of progressively responsible financial analysis, long-range modeling, financing experience in private, higher education or healthcare sectors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree preferred


Pay Range

Minimum $149,800.00, Midpoint $187,250.00, Maximum $224,700.00
 

Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
