Position Summary
This position is based at the State University of New York (SUNY) University at Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS). The practitioner will be working in conjunction with the New York State Department of Health to manage a high cost drugs initiative for the New York State (NYS) Medicaid Program. This initiative is supported by NYS legislation requires a pharmacoeconomic evaluation of any medications that significantly add to the Medicaid costs. In addition to those from the NYS Department of Health, the project team includes pharmacy faculty and staff from UB SPPS, as well as others from different SUNY institutions. Summary of job functions include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate project tasks based on team members strengths and experience
  • Communicate regarding project needs and progress with Medicaid/UB SPPS liaison and other team members (including those from the NYS Department of Health); open communication and transparency is key for this project
  • Develop timelines for the completion of each individual project
  • Track performance/progress of the projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in a health related profession (i.e. Pharmacist, DNP, physician)
  • Understanding of pharmacoeconomic and value based models of pricing
  • Organized; self-motivated; personable; ability to work as part of a cohesive team.
  • Ability to clearly present materials in line with identified provider need and patient population.
  • Ability to travel To Albany, NY as required for presentations or team meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with large data sets.
