Position Summary
The Jacobs School of Medicine seeks an incumbent to be responsible for responding to calls for the Anatomical Gift Program which occurs after death of an individual who is enrolled in the program. The anatomical gift program is a timeless gift. Knowledge of anatomy is essential for physicians, dentists and other health related professionals. The demand for bodies for teaching this essential information is great. Therefore, medical schools across the country are having to depend on the generosity of citizens to make their bodies available for this necessary education.

  • The incumbent will be required to pick up the remains of the donor and bring them to the university.
  • The incumbent will be required to obtain all necessary information required to file death certificates and burial transit permits, as well as any other legal documents which are required.
  • The incumbent will obtain, from the decedent’s next of kin, information which is required for the anatomical gift program to conduct its work that is beyond what is legally required and report that information to the Anatomical Gift Program Office.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate Degree with experience as a licensed funeral director.
  • Licensure in the State of New York.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree.
