The Department of Computer Science is looking for a professional to conduct, supervise and support research into protecting electric utilities against cyber attacks, including detecting such attacks and restoring connectivity, as part of a larger multi-institutional research project. Candidates must have a background in networking and network security, including network layer and routing protocols. The successful candidate is expected to have the following experience and skills:
A background in Internet of Things, electric utility grids or other industrial applications is helpful, but not required. Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to conduct research independently, e.g., by publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, and to design, implement and analyze research prototypes. Experience supporting larger research projects is helpful.
Minimum degree required: Bachelors or higher.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and/or the equivalent. Minimum of 3-5 years related experience required. Fluent in Python, knowledge of natural language processing, Algorithms, Linux.
MS in Computer Science
Preferred. Experience with Python, C and C++ languages.
