Business Analyst


Location: Moscow

Division/College: University Advancement (Div)

Employee Category: Exempt

Pay Range: $56,284 - $70,355 per year

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:

The Advancement Information Services Business Analyst is part of a team tasked with the day to day operations and long term planning of the University of Idaho (UI) Advancement Services administrative systems. Primary responsibility will be to serve as a functional expert with an understanding of the business needs and processes and the assigned applications that support those areas. Work will include, but is not limited to, working with end users to develop processes and define applications to best meet the user's needs; acting as liaison to UI Information Technology Services to identify, prioritize and schedule development needs, work with other areas across campus to enhance the use of systems, acting as a leader in the user side of technology implementations, work with users to identify and correct errors within the systems, management of user access and related system set up, coordination of reporting, including ad-hoc, work with disparate systems to help design and implement data exchanges.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems, higher education or related field PLUS minimum one year experience in business process analysis OR 5+ years experience in business process analysis or related field
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience providing customer service and a record of working effectively and cooperatively with diverse clientele in determining project needs and timelines
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team environment
  • Experience with reporting tools, similar to Argos, BRIO or Sequel Server Reporting Services (SSRS)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in related field
  • Experience in higher education
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems (Banner, Raisers Edge, ORacle, CRM, People-Soft, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with project management and business process analysis skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously and successfully
  • Ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Familiarity with and/or knowledge of SQL language
  • Demonstrated experience working within a team environment
