Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is looking to add an Irrigation & Pest Control Supervisor to the Facilities department.The Irrigation & Pest Control Supervisor will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive horticultural plan that encompasses irrigation, fertilization and pest control to ensure the proper environment for optimal growth for the plant materials at the University.  Responsible for the planning, scheduling and inspection of landscapes including but not limited to  flower beds, shrubs, trees, and turf areas looking for weeds, insects, diseases, soil conditions and moisture levels are a primary aspect of this job.  Responsible for the planning, scheduling and Inspecting all landscaped areas ensuring appropriate and consistent appearance while looking for damaging pests. Test for appropriate nutritional and moisture levels conducive to optimal plant growth. Identify areas needing chemical vs manual weed control and develop an implementation plan.Implement irrigation and chemical application schedules that ensure appropriate interactions.Supervise grounds personnel, irrigation and pest control technicians including annual evaluations, leave requests, licensing requirements.Review landscape and irrigation construction plans to prevent design oversights.  Update plans as necessary. Maintain a photographic log of improvements to both Irrigation systems and landscaping.Responsible for requesting equipment and supplies and ordering upon approval.Reserve all areas as possible and necessary to ensure no conflicts with student activities when applying chemicals and irrigation.
