The director of the GHR Fellows Program leads the strategic design, implementation, day-to-day operations and student experience of this preeminent scholarship program, a $50M initiative to drive the enrollment of a diverse set of high-performing students to the University of St. Thomas’ Opus College of Business. In partnership with the faculty director, university shared service units, and the GHR Foundation, the director sets program-level strategies and goals, leads the implementation of key initiatives, and manages innovation and continuous improvement efforts. The director reports to the dean of the Opus College, serves as a team member in the Office of Students Affairs at the University, and engages regularly with staff in marketing, admissions & recruiting, career services, student life, undergraduate programs, and university advancement to achieve program outcomes. The director has primary responsibility for engagement with students to insure that they have experiences and support resources consistent with a high-quality undergraduate honors program. The director serves as the primary program spokesperson, recruiter and advocate with both internal and external stakeholders.
Some local and national travel is required (5-10 % annually)
Strategy and Leadership:
Leads the design, implementation, day-to day operations, and student experience of the GHR Fellows Program.
Identifies, cultivates, and manages the internal and external relationships essential to the identification and admission of scholarship recipients, and the delivery of a unique curricular and co-curricular student experience that aligns with the transformational vision of the program.
Ensures the academic performance, career trajectory, and individual development outcomes (principled leadership, philanthropy, entrepreneurial thinking, global business/cultural values) envisioned by the GHR Foundation.
Serves as primary liaison to staff at the GHR Foundation.
Program Management and Student Engagement:
Directs the onboarding and day-to-day cohort experience, cultivating a sense of community, professionalism and responsibility to self/others and the GHR Foundation.
Engages regularly with students to guide their collegiate experience and ultimately gauge student satisfaction.
Leads the student advisory board, and in conjunction with the Opus College Dean, the external advisory board.
Program Planning and Development:
Develops an integrated program plan that provides a seamless four-year student experience, linking all facets of the University calendar/service structure.
Identifies and manages available resources with marketing, recruitment, advancement, housing, academic advising, study abroad, student support, career services, and undergraduate programs.
Program Financials, Reporting and Evaluation:
Manages the program budget.
Ensures strong communication and recordkeeping to support GHR Foundation stewardship.
Evaluates the program in terms of competitiveness, academic relevance, student satisfaction, and delivery and makes recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
Program Marketing and Recruitment:
Supports the development and execution of an annual marketing and recruitment plan for the GHR Fellows.
Establishes and manages membership and functions of the GHR Fellows advisory board and GHR alumni program.
Supports the development of content for marketing materials and storytelling.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Five years of program administration experience
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
Experience in higher education
Graduate degree in business, education, higher education administration, or a related field
Professional level experience with at least one of the following responsibilities:
Managing and reporting program progress for a foundation grant
Experience working in student affairs
Experience working with student personnel.
