Position Summary
The Center for the Arts at the University at Buffalo in the College of Arts and Sciences is seeking an experienced Ticket Operations Manager. This is a full time customer service position where you will work closely with all staff at the Center for the Arts along with students and members of the University community, and members of the general public including Center for the Arts patrons.

As the Ticket Operations Manager:

  • You will oversee box office operations for the Center for the Arts and its satellite performance spaces. Duties include daily sales, seating control and inventory, and preparation/reconciliation/authorization of deposits of box office receipts for transfer to the business office.
  • You will manage and operate computerized ticketing systems (including but not limited to ticketfly.com) including daily inventory changes, responding to user groups for ticket holds, releases, price changes, and discounts.
  • You will complete and maintain financial records including daily deposits, summaries, show settlement reports and audits. Maintain timely deposits from box office receipts and ticket agency receipts from weekly payments.
  • You will provide box office services to groups including ticket holds and/or releases, payment arrangements, ticket pulls and/or returns, and communication regarding parking, directions, workshops, tours, concessions, building accessibility, and other special services for groups.
  • You will act as point person for tour managers in reference to comp requests, ticket sales totals, press issues. Issue guest pass tickets for artists’ guests.

Through its facilities and programs, the Center for the Arts plays a significant role in accomplishing the mission of the University, presenting enriched educational and cultural opportunities through University performances, state and regional events, and national and international touring productions and exhibits. The 250,000 square foot building is a focal location for service to the campus and community and houses four theatres, University Art Galleries, the Department of Art, the Department of Media Study, performance and studio spaces for the Department of Theatre and Dance, the Center for the Arts Cafe in the Atrium, as well as administrative offices.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous professional box office/ticket management experience required, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Computer literacy required with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Position requires flexible, self-motivated and detail-oriented individual as well as a work schedule that includes daytime, evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications
Supervisory, customer service, strong communication and organizational skills preferred.
