Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is currently hiring a Senior Director of Data Solutions in the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Senior Director is a senior programmer/analyst who is an experienced technology, data manager, and reporting specialist who evaluates, implements and refines innovations in the unit’s technologies, processes, and policies to foster increased accuracy, timeliness, and performance in the advancement services arena.  The Senior Director shall play an especially key role in data integration.  To achieve these goals the Senior Director shall supervise an assistant director and deliver specialized ongoing programmatic services and complete an ever-evolving portfolio of defined projects. A talented project manager, The Senior Director is responsible for designing project objectives, and timelines and for proposing budgets and resource allocation plans to the Executive Director.Qualified candidates must possess substantial experience with CRMs and databases and their architecture, use of SQL and reporting tools, data interfaces, data process automation, algorithm development, business program support, data modeling for reporting, and support for creating end-user interactions.   

Candidates must be experienced with effective tools and web interfaces used to collect and assemble data, reports, and services from a number of different locations and sources.   Ideal candidates will also possess experience in data visualization, web development, and use of tools such as Java and Tableau.The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly motivated, creative, and detail-oriented; possess an unfailingly positive, solutions-oriented outlook; and have the ability to work collaboratively with other members of the staff to advance the University’s efforts to engage and fundraise from its constituencies. 

Proud to be accountable, ideal candidates shall be highly adaptable and possess sufficient resilience to effectively adjust to rapidly shifting prioritization.  The Senior Director shall model, coach and insist upon exceptional, positive customer service with colleagues and clients within and beyond the institution. Responsibilities: Solutions Development Manage and assign personnel and technical resources to address new and emerging challenges and opportunities; promptly and effectively resolve processing backlogs; and smooth workflows within the unit.  Optimize data processing performance.  Oversee customer relations and problem solving. Provide training on the use of advancement services tools to other advancement professionals.Envision, research, innovate, implement, and maintain novel reporting and productivity strategies and tools.
Expand the effective deployment of self-service tools to end users. Support campaign-related data acquisition, gift processing, and reporting.  Ensure superior outcomes in pledge fulfillment and acquisition of eligible gift matches.Identify new pools of valuable data, develop strategies for its acquisition, and obtain and transfer and fully integrate that data efficiently to the database. ReportingDesign new reports and annually reevaluate all reports. Conduct ad hoc reporting to analyze trends and performance data, identifying potential useful correlations.  Ensure accuracy and efficiency of reports created.
Provide oversight of pledge and acknowledgement processing activities. Audit the quality and timeliness of reporting and list generation.Systems and Technology ManagementImplement system patches and upgrades.  Manage integration with other campus systems and external data sources. Evaluate and implement new supplemental software and systems. Fully automate appropriate data processes. 
Manage reporting resources.Data Integrity & ComplianceMonitor the use of the Advancement database.  Periodically sample and audit information entered and retrieved.  Develop and maintain strategies and systems for ensuring data security, including PCI security compliance. Coordinate with outside vendors and services to keep the database clean and accurate.  Oversee compliance with government regulations and reporting standards for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) standards and Voluntary Support of Education (VSE). Design and enforce information services policies/procedures.
