The Eagle Flight Research Center is looking for an Operations Manager to serve as the principal administrator to coordinate and support all financial, reconciling cost centers, tracking expenditures, monthly financial reporting, pricing proposals, budgeting and interface with the Office of Sponsored Research Administration. The position provides the operations oversight for the manned and unmanned experimental aircraft fleet.  This includes the safety standards and day-to-day planning and operations of the experimental fleet.   Coordinates operations and budgets between the center director, staff researchers, faculty researchers, the office of sponsored programs, students and external business partners.
Responsibilities include the following:
Operations management for center projects.  This include coordinating with the center director, staff researchers, faculty researchers, the office of sponsored research, external business partners and graduate research assistants.   In conjunction with faculty and staff researchers, develops statements of work, budgets and proposal during the pre-proposal phases of contracting.   Tracks all center budgets and provides the principal investigator timely budgetary data for appropriate decision-making.   Aids in the tracking of timelines, deliverables and milestones.   Reconciles research expenditure cost centers and the home cost center.  Utilizes Oracle and in-house spreadsheet to provide predictive guidance to researchers on the current state and health of existing research lines.   Works with industry research partners to provide lines of communication with researchers to include the dissemination of information, schedule meetings and maintain a good working relationship.   Aids in the purchase of center and research cost center capital and non-capital requests.   Aids with the maintenance of split funding forms and journal entries for cross cost center funding.   Interfaces with the College of Engineering on administrative intersections. 

Operations management for the experimental fleet of manned and unmanned aircraft.   Maintains centers aircraft operations procedures and safety procedures manuals.  Suggests changes and upgrades to operations and safety procedures.  Is charges, with the center direction in ensuring the appropriate safety culture with respect to flight operations and R&D prototyping (hangar activities).  Is responsible in tracking the dispatch and recovery of flight test aircraft.   Is in charge of safety operations for high voltage battery and electrical power systems.  Is in chard of safety of experimental and non-experimental liquid fuels. 

Aid in the operation of and execution of academic affairs within the Center. This include preparing MAC contracts.   Insuring compliance with NDAs and IPAs. Provide scheduling of the facility and insures the smooth utilization of space by undergraduate and graduate students. Tracks academic deadlines and aids in the management of graduate student progress toward academic degrees.
