The University at Buffalo invites applications for the Service & Repair Mechanic (HVAC-R) position within Residential Facilities. In this role, you will perform journey-level work in the operation, maintenance, repair and installation of heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning equipment.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and training designated staff as applicable
  • Overhauling compressors, pumps and electric motors
  • Replacing parts and controls
  • Installing/ maintaining equipment
  • Operating and performing repairs to refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment
  • Inspecting and troubleshooting equipment for leaks and electrical/mechanical failures
  • Adjusting controls, cleaning and lubricating parts, preparing brine mixtures
