Departmental Overview
For over 100 years, UHS has been providing health care and integrative services for a wide range of physical and mental health care needs to the Berkeley campus community. And we've spent a quarter-century of that time at the Tang Center, a fully accredited health care facility, UHS employs over 300 people, including primary and urgent care physicians, psychiatrists, consulting medical specialists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, pharmacists, health educators, social workers, and other health administrative professionals. All our clinicians, counselors, and nurses are state-licensed and/or certified in their respective fields. In addition to our staff, Berkeley students participate in UHS peer, intern, and volunteer programs. Together, we provide services on a continuum from prevention through treatment.

Responsibilities
- Applies advanced concepts to conduct wide-ranging needs analysis for health care programs. Identify RSOs and campus partners to support the development and implementation of student wellness programming, with a focus on student-led projects. This may include academic courses, workshop series, and other outreach efforts. Makes recommendations on health promotion and education programs to help meet the complex and varied needs of the campus. Create reports to support funding and continuous improvement of student outreach programming.
- Assesses the effectiveness of the promotion and education of entire student mental healthcare programs, and makes recommendations that may have broad impact to the programs. Offers advising to staff supporting student wellness programming
- Serve as student mental health liaison to academic departments and registered student organizations who want to focus more on student wellness, particularly prevention efforts.
- Attend regular meetings with other student mental health peer coordinators and prevention-focused health educators within UHS.
- Attend campus and departmental committees aimed at supporting student flourishing and wellness.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of the mental health & wellness promotion and education field and / or related education programs and services.
- Advanced knowledge associated with the design and delivery of health promotion and educational outreach programs.
- Skills associated with both the development and delivery of diverse health and wellness education programs and services.
- Requires effective interpersonal skills to deal with diverse student groups.
- Effective organizational and analytical skills.
- Interpersonal and diplomacy skills to identify and respond to organizational and campus needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to analyze, interpret and respond to client needs through the development, implementation and delivery of health-related programs.
- Ability to organize and coordinate student leaders and volunteers to support student wellness programming.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree preferred.

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
- The budgeted salary that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $80,400- $112,900.
- This is a 100%, full-time (40 hours per week), career position that is eligible for full UC benefits.
- This position is exempt and paid monthly.
