The University of St. Thomas invites qualified candidates to apply for an Alumni Engagement Program Manager position within University Development and Alumni Relations. The Program Manager will be responsible for comprehensive delivery of programs and events with emphasis on career preparation, professional development, training, and mentorship serving the global Tommie network. This position will provide significant leadership in increasing alumni engagement and strengthening the Tommie network. The Program Manager acts as a primary liaison to the Career Center, and interacts with students, alumni, university leaders, donors, community leaders, faculty, staff, and event volunteers. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and four (4) years of experience in program management, execution and measurement. Preferred qualifications: experience designing, planning, implementing and measuring career and networking program programs, as well as planning and delivering successful, high-quality and complex events; experience with mentoring or networking software platforms preferred. Knowledge of: Principles and practices of program management; basic budgetary practices and terminology; computer applications related to the CRM, process mapping, and document control; business arithmetic; strong interest in strategic planning and measurement; developing procedures and processes; standard office practices and procedures; correct business grammar, including spelling, grammar and punctuation for both written and oral communications; skilled at relationship management techniques for interacting successfully with the public, in person, digitally and over the telephone. Skill in: Performing professional-level programmatic work in a variety of areas; interpreting, applying and explaining applicable regulations; ability to anticipate project requirements, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision; strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage detail and accuracy and the ability to manage multiple concurring tasks; strategic and analytical thinking; preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials; understanding and following oral and written directions; contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities; ability to establish vision and goals to support mission of the institution and develop process to implement; ability to prioritize and perform multiple projects, ongoing and new; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines; planning, directing and reviewing the work of others on a project or day-to-day basis; using tact, discretion and prudence in dealing with those contacted in the course of the work; ability to deal successfully with a variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
