Assist the Director of Fabrication in supporting the practice and process of analog and digital fabrication in the School of Architecture and Planning’s Fabrication Workshop, working with students, faculty, and researchers in model construction and studio projects to provide consultation and support. The candidate will be responsible for: all training and compliance matters related to the use of the School’s facilities, including but not limited to mandatory safety training on equipment and tools; routine and preventative maintenance on all equipment; building services tasks and projects; maintaining inventory of equipment and supplies; assisting with long-term improvements. Additional duties pertaining to the SMART Fabrication Factory will include operating a OMAX Waterjet Cutter (Maxiem 1530), Universal Laser Cutter (PLS6MW) and a Front-Loading Electric Kiln (L+L Kilns: K-B-3048/62), assisting researchers and students execute their work on these machines, supervising the schedule of use of fabrication factory space and maintaining its regular upkeep.
