The Landscape Technician will provide added value to the in-house grounds maintenance department, in support of their mission, by using their broad breadth of experience to develop and execute landscape construction and maintenance projects (in-house) for the campus, in addition to performing normal, on-going maintenance and renovation of landscape, hardscape, turf management, drainage systems, roads & parking lots, and fencing. All activities will be performed timely, efficiently and to the campus standard.
Responds to assigned work orders in a timely manner, ensures job is completed to the campus standard and closes the work order out through the handheld tablet linked to the CMMS system.
Develops horticultural landscape, xeriscape, hardscape, irrigation and drainage design and construction plans in cooperation with Grounds Lead, and Assistant Director of Facilities and in accordance with campus and industry standards.
Works with the Grounds Lead and the Purchasing/Property Control Coordinator to submit Purchase Requisitions in accordance with established and ad hoc schedules to ensure ready availability of materials, supplies and equipment required for in-house designed landscape, hardscape and drainage/erosion control projects.
Applies fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides as required.
Executes landscape plans to meet campus quality standards and objectives, industry spec and quality standards in a safe, efficient and cost conscience manner.
Other duties as assigned to meet the facilities’ management objectives including campus "Special Events" support and snow removal activities.
