Pre-Health Professions Advisor
$39,291.20 annually or higher commensurate with experience
The Health Professions Advisor is responsible for recruiting, advising, supporting and providing services to students who are preparing for health-related professions. These health programs include physical therapy, occupational therapy, optometry, medical laboratory science, pharmacy, and nursing. Services include helping students understand and assess their own abilities relative to career paths, choose courses, gain health-related experience, complete applications, and plan for professional and graduate school.
Experience compiling and analyzing data.
Experience delivering student-centered customer service.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Masters degree; 1 year post-secondary advising/counseling experience or professional experience relevant to the health professions.
Familiarity with/knowledge of the health professions.
Experience with health professions advising.
Proven excellence in public speaking skills.
Knowledge of University of Idaho academic rules and regulations for undergraduate advising.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Ability to lift or otherwise move up to 30 pounds. Willingness to travel and to work selected evenings and weekends.
