Position Summary     
The Office of International Admissions at the University at Buffalo invites applications for temporary International Admissions Assistant(s). In this position, you will help manage international applications for university admissions, including recommending admissions decisions for an assigned applicant group or groups. In this position, you will also:

•     Receive, sort, and triage records and applications for university admissions from prospective international students.

•     Verify and evaluate applicant financial and immigration documents. Create I-20 preview sheets, and validate the associated information.

•     Enter relevant data into applicable information systems. Verify and enter transfer credits.

•     Review and troubleshoot the upload of electronic records into university systems. Resolve problems with the electronic workflow by deciphering the coding error message, and correcting discrepancies, and ensuring application information is recorded correctly.

•     Perform other general support tasks, including creating document sets, running batch printing jobs, verifying requests for courier shipping, and managing mail. Answer telephone calls, e-mail, and other messages or inquires.

Minimum Qualifications     
Bachelor’s degree. One year of responsible, related work experience, preferably in international admissions. Strong computer skills, including electronic communication tools, spreadsheets, databases.

Demonstrated intercultural skills and first-hand experience in a multi-cultural setting, and a knowledge of or an ability and interest to learn about a wide variety of educational documents from around the world.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with deadlines simultaneously.

US citizenship or legal permanent residency is required, as mandated by federal regulations.

Preferred Qualifications     
Ability to work non-standard/flexible (evening and weekend) hours.
