Pay Range: $19.45 per hour or higher depending on experience

Position Summary:

The University of Idaho Extension is seeking applicants for a full-time Program Coordinator (five year grant funded) who will oversee activities at program site and act as a liaison between the University of Idaho and the St. Maries School District. They will ensure site is following grant guidelines and deliver out-of-school time programs to elementary students.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or Associates degree.

Experience: Two years experience working with youth teaching and/or out-of-school time programs; working with individuals from varying cultural and/or socio-economic backgrounds. Experience in supervising staff, developing and administering grants.

Ability to: Use word processing program and basic knowledge of Excel, and graphic design software (Publisher, Photoshop, paint, Photo Editor, etc.); multi-task and meet deadlines; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to work cooperatively with others.

Requires: Food safety or equivalent training, first aid and CPR certifications within 6 weeks of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience: Bachelors degree in Education, Social work, child development, or a related field. Working with a non-profit advisory board; recruiting and working with volunteers.

Basic knowledge/experience: In the areas of health and fitness, visual art and cultural education; science education.
Knowledge of: Computers and educational software; how to set-up and maintain computer lab.

Possess: Familiarity with and/or interest in community; successful experience working with high risk children and families.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

55% time desk/computer work and 45% actively working with out-of-school time program.
