Program Manager - Degree Completion

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time


If you are collaborative, inclusive, growth-minded and want a career in helping our students succeed, UVU is looking for you! The Program Manager will be responsible for providing support and mentoring to UVU students. Collaborates and builds networking opportunities with UVU departments as well as faculty and staff to ensure appropriate services are provided for various cohorts of students. This position also monitors the progress of cohort groups to ensure they receive appropriate support to enhance their ability to be successful and complete their intended degree.
  • Develops, implements and performs outreach and mentoring to specific UVU cohort students.
  • Collaborates and network with both academic affairs and student affairs departments along with individual faculty and staff to ensure students have access to needed resources and support across the UVU campus.
  • Collects data, manage databases, assess efforts, and manages surveys.
  • Manages and oversees finances available in completion scholarship budget.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelors degree plus one year of experience related to the Summary of Duties or any combination of education and/or experience related to the Summary of Duties totaling five years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in retention and completion programming, and strategies for student persistence.
  • Knowledge in current mentoring and coaching strategies for higher ed. students.
  • Knowledge of a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Design Suite.
  • Skill in organizational, verbal, and written communication.
  • Skill in budget management.
  • Skill in interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, and public relations sufficient to work with and relate to a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees.
  • Ability to work with attention to detail, maturity, professional demeanor, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
  • Ability to prioritize and to change priorities as needs arise.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree and 1-3 years experience.

Physical Requirements:

General office requirements such as: talking, listening, hearing, seeing, standing, sitting and fine hand manipulation.

Pay Range: $33,068 - $44,091 annually
