Position Summary

The School of Dental Medicine is seeking an Infection Control and Safety Manager to develop and execute an annual SDM Infection Control plan to support its Infection Control policies and procedures. Under the supervision and direction of the Compliance Officer, the incumbent’s primary responsibilities are as follows:

    • Keep abreast of clinical infection control requirements for an Article 28 facility and plan for the implementation of protocols to meet and adhere to regulations
    • Monitor and document adherence to Infection Control and safety protocols with inspections, reporting, coordinating remediation and implementation of sanctions
    • Serve as an educator and conduct required annual trainings for students, faculty and staff
    • Serve as Chair for the Infection and Hazard Control committee and Code 5 (emergency response) committee, and participate on SDM’s Quality Assurance committee
    • Serve as SDM liaison to UB’s Environmental Health and Safety department for infection control and safety

 


This position is expected to maintain the highest ethical and professional standards of conduct and work with School leaders to develop priorities, document adherence, and develop solutions that best support the School of Dental Medicine in the fulfillment of its mission.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in a dental clinic setting, with experience in Infection Control.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop, lead, train and share knowledge with faculty and staff.
