Area Coordinator

Location: Moscow

Division/College: Auxiliary Services

Employee Category: Exempt

Pay Range: $43,784.32 annually or higher commensurate with experience.

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:

The Area Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of student life in the assigned residential area serving up to 650 residents. The Coordinator provides leadership and service to develop communities that are focused on student success, retention and inclusivity. The Area Coordinator provides advisement to a diverse community government structure and directly supervises one undergraduate area assistant and supervises up to 16-20 paraprofessional staff. This position reports directly to the Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life. The Coordinator is also a member of the on call crisis response rotation. This is a full-time, 12-month position with furnished on campus apartment.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Masters degree in higher education, counseling, or related field.

- Requires a minimum of two (2) years of directly job-related experience.

- Demonstrated skills in supervision, programming, student advising, conflict mediation and response to crisis situations.

- Demonstrated competence in public speaking, public relations and written and oral communications.

- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with learning communities and special interest housing.

- Experience advising student governments and serving as a conduct hearing officer.

- Thorough knowledge of student and human development theories.

- Possess a valid drivers license.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Work evenings and weekends as needed.

It is a requirement of this position to live on campus, an apartment in the residence hall is provided.
