Position is an 11 month/40 hour per week. Primary responsibilities are to provide individual, couples, and group counseling using a brief treatment framework of counseling under the direct supervision of the Counseling Director. Crisis intervention is also an essential job duty for this position. Must be able to conduct appropriate assessments, provide feedback on these assessments, and give appropriate referrals for students who have needs exceeding the scope of work provided by Counseling Services. The counselor will also consult with Wellness Center providers regarding student needs. This person will provide coverage for the Counseling Director in their absence. Provide consultation services to concerned faculty, students, and staff. This position will see students mandated to attend counseling by the University. The counselor will work collaboratively with the Counseling Center staff, meeting weekly with the Counseling Director. Protocols are in place and will be followed as far as the State Board of Counseling. Will continue to keep current in counseling practices by attending professional conferences and training sessions, required for licensing. This position will require public presentations to various groups on and off campus by providing wellness education and outreach to students and staff in conjunction with Human Resources. This position requires some after-hours availability.
