Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Worldwide Campus is currently hiring for a Financial Aid Specialist.  The Specialist is responsible for performing regular quality control checks of all federal aid, state financial aid programs, institutional scholarships and external scholarship opportunities to include student eligibility documentation and disbursements in accordance with University policies and procedures and Federal and State Regulations. The Specialist will assist management with quality control of loans, verification, and grants working daily reports to verify student’s eligibility and packaging is accurate in accordance to Federal/State/Institutional Regulations.  They will also be responsible for the Worldwide Financial Aid Return Mail process; Monitoring the Imaging Return Mail queue and contacting students regarding their incorrect paperwork.
Maintain a working knowledge of Federal and State Regulations and ERAU policies and regulations. In addition, the Specialist will support excellence in students services at every opportunity. Support academic quality in our teaching and learning environment. Participate as a team member and support our team environment.
 
Responsibilities include the following:
 
Federal, State, Institutional and External Programs:

Reviewing multiple daily Financial Aid reports such as but not limited to Grants, Scholarships, Direct Loan, Private loan and verification reports and fixing discrepancies that may arise with a students financial aid (verification, grants, loans, etc.) within the student systems and notifying the Financial Aid Manager of Operations of any major issues.
Working in multiple systems entering accurate information pertaining to a students financial aid as comments/updates/adjustments are needed while quality control reports are being reviewed.
Maintaining and updating the Knowledge Base for the operations center in regards to Financial Aid.
Assist with the student’s initial and renewal eligibility to participate in state assistance programs by applying the criteria set forth by the offering agent. 
Assist with training material for operations center and counselors as needed
Assist in researching regulatory information and helping to resolve complex financial aid questions
Maintain a working knowledge of all federal, state, and institutional regulations and related office policies and procedures.
Assist with the student’s initial and renewal eligibility to participate in state assistance programs by applying the criteria set forth by the offering agent.
Assist with Knowledge Base updates for the Operations Center in regards to federal, and state regulations.
Assist with the QC receipt of funds to students’ accounts.
Assist with the QC student documentation for eligibility within the Imaging system.
Assist with communication to staff members of any policy revisions or updates as necessary.
Assist with Knowledge Base updates for the Operations Center in regards to External Scholarship opportunities and Institutional scholarship opportunities.
Maintain confidentiality and sensitive student information.
Knowledge of Financial Aid

Assist in updating policies and procedures manuals, as necessary.
Obtain, through seminars, training workshops, web bulletins and newsletters, an expert knowledge of financial aid regulations.
Maintain a working knowledge of student eligibility as required for financial assistance in compliance with federal, state, and institutional guidelines.
Assist the Financial Aid Counselors as needed.
Assist with reviewing documents in Imaging, updating checklists and making comments on student accounts.
Assist the Manger of Operations, Associate/Assistant Director, and Director as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and sensitive student information.
Assist with the Worldwide Financial Aid Return Mail process; monitoring the Imaging Return Mail queue and contacting students regarding their incorrect paperwork.
Other duties as assigned.
