University of Buraimi (UoB) – Oman, is a young dynamic and emerging institution dedicated to developing students’ skills and career development through global educational system. In building this dynamic university, the University invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS COORDINATOR position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 Deal with all international inquiries related to international relations department
 Comply with institution’s initiatives related to; strategic alliances, institutional partnership, inter- institutional agreements, collaborations and memberships etc
 Liaise with the international entities of other institutions on matters of mutual interest
 Manage, and schedule all incoming/outgoing international delegations’ visits
 Keep record of memorandum of understanding, agreements and other internationalization activities related of this department
 Communicate international exchange opportunities identified for students to all concerned departments
 Assist to market programs and courses to international exchange students
 Review, analyze and improve; performance and value of international partnerships against international benchmarks/standard
 Participate in developing international relations department policies and procedures
 Oversee all matters related to the international relations department such as budget estimate, human and other resource requirements
 Participate in preparing annual progress reports of the unit activities
 Follow up various instructional materials to serve plans of department
 Manage a range of international relations projects and initiatives on behalf of University of Buraimi, under the direction of the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs.
 Contribute to a range of international relations activities including the coordination of incoming international visits and outgoing different College of UoB delegations.
 Plan and implement an orientation program for international students in the fall, spring and summer terms.
 Collaborate with academic advisors and liaise with other internal university stakeholders within Student Affairs and Academic Affairs to develop partnerships.
 Any other assigned duties.

GENERAL REQUIREMENT

 Bachelor’s degree in international relations, international affairs, or related discipline.
 Ability to speak and write fluently in English and Arabic.
 Proven experience with minimum of five years professional experience in a similar role within higher education
 Excellent oral and interpersonal communication, team building, and resource development skills.
 Experience and effective team player with all stakeholders
 Highly self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail
 Sensitive to the GCC Culture
 Ability to travel as part of the University delegation if needed
 Broad knowledge of issues relating to the international relations and performance of higher education institutions and international qualifications frameworks
 Experience in the education, policy or business sectors and related knowledge of culture and practice
 Experience writing reports, collating and analyzing qualitative and quantitative forms of information and data.
 Must have excellent cross cultural communication skills as well as proven experience working with diverse populations.
 Demonstrated interest in international education.
 Must have excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem solving skills.
 Must possess a strong attention to detail.
 Ability to successfully work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
