Under the general supervision of the Director of Help Desk and IT Operations, the Program Assistant in the Office of Computer and Information Services is responsible for providing systems support and instruction in regards to Windows and Virtualized infrastructure including, but not limited to: server builds, system, software and end user support, active directory maintenance, storage area network administration and VMware backup and disaster recovery processes; and performs additional duties as required. This position is based at the Union campus and supports remote campuses across New Jersey and in Wenzhou, China. This position requires occasional travel to other Kean campus locations in New Jersey.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in IT, Computer Science or a related field. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute experience on a year for year basis. Applicants who possess an Associate’s degree may substitute two (2) years of position-related experience for the remaining two (2) years of education. A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer science or a related field and at least one year of experience in technical support including Systems Administration and/or Systems Engineering is preferred.
The selected candidate will be required to pass a four (4) month Working Test Period to become eligible for a regular appointment.
